Balanced Score Card (BSC) Implementation for a large MNC software company:

At VSM, challenge drives our teams to achieve higher and aim even higher. Designing, developing and implementing BSC at a large MNC software company, was indeed a challenge.

The Balanced Score Card (BSC) is a management approach to communicate the vision and strategy of the organization to its employees. BSC enables translation of a company's vision and strategy into a coherent set of performance measures that can be automated and linked at all levels of the organization. This software provides the framework to define and measure the key elements in the organization.

From day one, in an assignment of this nature, we knew that there would be challenges, both in technology and functions. The greatest challenge was to develop a formula builder that would use data accessed from multiple sources in the company, and provide a generalized interface to compute performance indicators, such as sum of all costs, cost/man month etc.

BSC tool presents performance evaluation at any level in the hierarchy of the organization. The tool provides convenient roll ups and drill downs. The final "view" is an attractive dash board consisting only of traffic colors that indicate how a division, a project, a department or any other entity had performed in a period.
